Advisory

*Public Notice* Speed Limit Reduction on All Town Roads to 25 mph effective July 31st as posted.

*Public Notice* The Department of Public Safety wants to remind all town residents and visitors that the town-wide speed limit will be 25 mph. Public works crews will be working tomorrow to make those changes. The speed limits will be as posted.

The 25 mph speed limit was voted on by the Selectmen upon recommendation from the Department of Public Safety and the Pedestrian Village Study Committee as a first step to integrate bicycle pathways with vehicular traffic in Waterville Valley.

"The reduction of the speed limit to 25 mph is the first step in making bicycle and pedestrian traffic safer in Waterville Valley" says Chief Noyes. "This is a necessary change to meet contemporary standards for bicycle and pedestrian safety."

One of the items that the Pedestrian Village Study Committee is working on are improvements to the pedestrian ways in town.

The Department of Public Safety will be enforcing the new speed limit with a focus to educate residents and visitors as the transition is being made.
