Water Conservation Message. We are now under Stage 3-A Water Restrictions.
1. You must reduce your water usage by 25%.
2. Water landscape between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am.
3. Water 3 days a week or less for no more than 10 minutes per station.
4. Check landscape irrigation for breaks and leaks and fix them within 72 hours.
5. Use a broom to clean driveways, sidewalks and patios.
6. Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.
7. Limit your showers to 10 minutes or less.
8. Do not drain and refill swimming pools and fountains.
9. Replace your grass with drought tolerant landscape.
10. Turn off your sprinklers during a rain event and 48 hours after.
11. Set your lawnmower height to 2 inches, longer grass holds more water.
12. Use your garbage disposal sparingly, instead compost your food waste.
13. Run your dishwasher only when it is full.
14. Fix your leaky faucets, 1 drip a second wastes 5 gallons a day.
15. Wash our produce in a bowl of water instead of running water.
16. Keep water in the fridge instead of running tap until its cold.
17. Use old pet water to water your trees and shrubs.
18. Mulching around plants, shrubs and trees reduces evaporation.
19. Use a cover on your pool to keep it clean and reduce evaporation.
20. When washing your hands, turn off the water while you lather.
21. Avoid playing with lawn toys that require a constant flow of water.
22. Plug the sink instead of using running water to rinse your razor.
23. Water plants deeply and less frequently to promote drought tolerance.
24. Use a barrel to collect water from rain gutters to use in your gardens.
25. Water run-off onto the street is prohibited.
