Second Precinct Teams Up with Target for Heroes and Helpers Program!
Officers from the Second Precinct partnered with Target to bring some holiday joy to two dozen children thanks to Target’s generous nationwide program known as Heroes and Helpers which provides $50 Target gift cards to underprivileged children who were joined by police officers in a delightful holiday shopping experience.
This year’s event, on Monday night December 21, 2015, at Target’s Huntington Station store was another great success! Suffolk County Police Department Deputy Commissioner Timothy Sini joined Inspector Christopher Hatton, Deputy Inspector Bill Read, Sergeant David Fuentes, and Police Officers Claudia Delgado, Anthony Iadevaio, Drew Fiorillo, Annette Rios-Hoyt, Michael Rosen, and Thomas Stanzoni during the children’s “Shop with a Cop” experience. The evening was topped off with a festive pizza party, making this a most enjoyable event for all those in attendance. Inspector Hatton stated, “It was great to be part of this wonderful event and see the positive interaction between the police officers and children”.
The Second Precinct extends its heartfelt thanks to Target, and particularly store manager Thomas Cordara, for allowing us to participate in this outstanding program. We also send our thanks to the Second Precinct Police Explorers for their assistance, to the Suffolk PBA for their financial assistance in providing the pizza, and to all the officers who helped make this a great success.
