Subject: Shooting 1900 Block Taylor ** Update**
Victim: Tyler A. Strausser (04/30/1997) of 1935 Taylor Av.
Investigators have determined Stausser was not a random victim. Tyler Strausser was the targeted victim of a home invasion/robbery. During this robbery Strausser suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His current condition is unknown.
Original Release
On Sunday, 05/08/16, at approximately 9:45pm, officers responded to 1935 Taylor Ave. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 19 year old victim suffering from several gunshot wounds, and in serious condition. The victim was taken to Wheaton Franciscan emergency by rescue and then later by flight-for-life to Freodert in Milwaukee.
Specific details on the incident leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. The Racine Police Department is actively looking for one suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, late teens to early twenties, around 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs. At the time of the shooting the suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He was also armed with a handgun.
