The City of Seal Beach has established several locations where complimentary sand and empty sandbags are available for residents. The sandbag locations are;

• Marine Safety Headquarters – 888 Ocean Avenue
• The Naval Weapons Station, “Liberty Gate” - Seal Beach Bl. and Landing Ave.
• Fire Station 44 – 8th Street and Central Ave.
• Fire Station 48 - 3131 Northgate Road (at the 405 freeway)
• Arbor Park - 4665 Lampson Ave.
• Marina Park – First Street and Marina Avenue
• Seal Beach Public Works Yard (sandbags only) – 1776 Adolfo Lopez Dr.

Emergency Notification Systems

AlertOC is a mass notification system used by the City of Seal Beach and Seal Beach Police Department to issue government related messages to residents and businesses. All residential and commercial landline phone numbers are a part of the AlertOC system. AlertOC replaced the old “Reverse 911” system. Residents can register additional cell phone numbers, text numbers and e-mail addresses at AlertOC.com.



**UPDATE**
Two of the three rainstorms have passed through Seal Beach, with the last rain event expected to arrive on Sunday, January 22nd. City of Seal Beach officials have assessed the impacts of the two storms and have enhanced existing flood mitigation efforts. Members of the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) will be filling sandbags for residents in the 8th Street beach parking lot from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21st.

Additionally, Seal Beach community members are advised to do the following:

• Do not swim or surf in the ocean for 72 hours after the storms to allow the bacteria count to go down.

• Do not park your car in areas that may flood. Some of those areas include First Street between P.C.H. and Marina Drive. And on Marina Drive between First Street and Fifth Street.

• Do not walk or drive through flooded roads.

• Drive courteously, defensively and at a speed appropriate for conditions. Treat signal outages as stop signs.

• Watch out for city and utility workers and please don't interfere with them as they are performing their duties.

• Keep your pets inside.
