*Those impacted by outages are reminded NOT to use grills, stoves, kerosene heaters, or other combustible devices indoors due to carbon monoxide and fire hazards.
* If power is needed for medical devices or any other special equipment, call 307-733-9572 Teton County Emergency Operations Center for any questions.
* Residents impacted by the power outage who need sheltering or other assistance are asked to call the American Red Cross at 800-675-5799.
* Visitors impacted by the outage can contact Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce at 307-733-3316 for travel and lodging recommendations.
Per Lower Valley Energy
Jackson, WY (2-8-17 9:40 am) Major outage that began yesterday evening near Teton Village. Seventeen steel transmission poles buckled on the Moose-Wilson road causing a major outage in Teton County.
We expect Teton Village to be out of power for 5-7 days.
The current game plan today is:
• to clear snow to gain access to each transmission pole and then begin erecting temporary wooden poles
• re-route power, hopefully at least on an intermittent basis, to the airport area this afternoon
The cause for the downed transmission lines are still not yet known though the area experienced higher than normal wind gusts (up to 90+ mph).
All Lower Valley Energy crews have been dispatched along with crews from 5 neighboring utilities heading here to assist.

Wednesday, February 8th. 10:40 AM UPDATE
Due to a massive wind storm last night, a significant number of power poles along Highway 390 were blown down, causing Teton Village to lose power. This power outage is being addressed by Lower Valley Energy, but the significance of this damage will be impacting Teton Village for up to seven days. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) will not be operating until further notice. All events scheduled for this week and weekend will be canceled, specifically Skijoring and Special Olympics.
Safety is the first concern for JHMR visitors and staff, and JHMR is asking for only specific operational staff come to Teton Village today and request that no unnecessary travel to Teton Village is in effect until further notice. With another weather system coming into the area tonight, there is a winter storm watch in effect for the higher elevations. Warming temperatures could result in possible flooding in the valley, making conditions challenging for many reasons. JHMR is seriously enforcing no uphill travel this week and asks everyone to stay off the mountain. JHMR will be issuing refunds for all visitors, but at this time, we do not have a location to process those refunds. Updates on operations and incident information will be updated as they come in on this page.
Teton Village Fire Department will be providing emergency services throughout this incident, and will be updating hotels and businesses as information comes in. The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Jackson Hole Central Reservation will be assisting with lodging and travel options for displaced guests.

UPDATE 8:45PM 2/7/17 - Highway 390, Moose-Wilson Rd is open. Continue to use extreme caution as there are still down power lines.
**No estimated time on power being restored at this time.
UPDATE 7:25PM 2/7/17 - Lower Valley Energy is asking all customers in the area of the entire length of the Teton Village Rd/ Highway 390 to limit electricity usage until further notice. Reducing power strain on the grid will help Lower Valley Energy to more quickly reroute power around the downed power poles and re-establish service. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE - Reports are coming in that there are 8 to 10 power poles down on Highway 390/Moose-Wilson Rd from about John Dodge subdivision all the way to Teton Village. Power is out at Teton Village at this time. Anyone using side streets onto Highway 390 must use extreme caution and be watchful for downed power lines. Avoid power lines. If you are in your vehicle and touching a power line, call 9-1-1. Do NOT exit your car.
Highway 390 is closed to northbound traffic at John Dodge for thru-traffic and non-residents.
Unrelated to this event, Highway 191 from Hoback to Bondurant is closed due to avalanche. Visit http://wyoroad.info for road condition and opening information.

- US 191 Hoback - Bondurant is OPEN.
- US 89/191/26 Moose to Moran is OPEN, but No unecessary travel is advised.
- Gros Ventre Rd North of Kelly is still CLOSED
