Social Media Investigation/Information
The Racine Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving the circulation of inappropriate content on social media among a small number of students. The parents of the students directly involved in this matter have been formally notified of the nature of this investigation.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with no apprehensions being made or additional information being available as of this time.
As a component of our community policing philosophy and community engagement strategy, the secondary purpose of this communication is to raise awareness relative to the national problem involving the inappropriate use of social media.
Members of our community who have school-aged children who regularly use social media should review and become familiar with the information contained in the following public service links.
