In the interest of sharing information and maintaining communication with regard to resident and child safety, we want to make you aware of a suspicious incident that occurred on Monday, May 21, on the way home from Parcells Middle School.
A student reported that she was walking on the sidewalk, south on Mack, towards CVS/Kroger when an unknown male was walking behind her. The male was walking at a distance of one to two car lengths behind her and was walking in the same direction. The male never said anything to her; however, she thought he was following her because she did not see where the male came from. She said to the male "stop following me" more than once and the male reportedly kept walking without saying anything. When the student went into Kroger he continued south on Mack, and from there unknown. The male is described as white, mid-40s, brown hair, oval shaped face, no facial hair, light color pants, and a blue shirt with writing on it (unknown what writing was).
This provides an opportunity for you to review all appropriate safety precautions with your children and urge them to use caution and common sense in any situation that feels uncomfortable or dangerous to them. Please be sure that your children know to report any incident immediately to an adult or to call police. Our most important priority, like yours, is keeping our residents and children safe.
