This past Saturday, Cushing hosted a rodeo that was cast in shadows, prior to every getting underway.  The report of a potential act of violence, heightened police presence to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.

Even with the potential threat, the rodeo continued.  The rodeo producers, Marcus Friday and Steve Reagor, worked, side by side, with local law enforcement to ensure that the event was a fun safe family friendly event.  It was due to this effort and that of the law enforcement community that this event went off without a hitch.
 
Throughout the course of the event, not one incident occurred.  Cushing Police would like to personally THANK, Marcus Friday, Steve Reagor and their crew for an outstanding job.  Cushing Police also want to THANK, Stillwater Police Department, Payne County Sheriff’s Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Oklahoma State University Police Department for their assistance in support of the safety efforts for this event.
