Update-

On 10-8-18, Stokes County Animal Control received a report of 3 dogs that had been abandoned in a vacant lot on Sand Hole Rd in Pinnacle. The dogs were in need of immediate veterinary attention due to severe mange. One of the dogs died as a result of the mange, and the remaining two were sent to a rescue group after treatment by a veterinarian.

Animal Control officers asked the public for assistance, and received valuable information which led to the arrest of Michael Steven Penn.

Sheriff Mike Marshall said, "I want to thank the public for their help in this case. Their tips really paid off".
