Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Medford last night.
 
Stephen Burch Jr. was operating a 2013 Suzuki V Storm eastbound on Express Drive South between Exit 63 and Exit 64 when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and crashed into a tree at approximately 10:10 p.m. 
 
Burch Jr., 30, of Medford was transported by Medford Rescue ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition with severe head/brain trauma.
 
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
