D.A.R.E. Stokes County School Board Recognizing Students

Sheriff Mike Marshall and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to help make a difference in drug abuse in Stokes County. The D.A.R.E. program began in the late 1980’s in Stokes County and has been going strong ever since. Stokes County School students in the Fifth Grade and in the Eight Grade are offered a 10 week program that is geared to help students learn and practice skills on how they could deal with today’s pressures to use drugs and to make better decisions. This is one more reason why Stokes County is the place to be.

Special thanks to our D.A.R.E. Officers, Captain Danny Bottoms, Corporal Scott Gordon, Deputy Amanda Ferguson, Deputy Mary Ziglar making a difference for Stokes County.

On October 15, 2018 the Stokes County school Board recognized our D.A.R.E. essay winners from last year’s Fifth Grade classes from all eleven Stokes County Public Schools.
