An avalanche behind TJ Maxx on W Broadway in Jackson into Flat Creek is causing the creek to back up and will likely flood the west end of the Meadowbrook Apartments parking lot behind Loaf n' Jug. If you have a vehicle parked here, it is advised you move it immediately. Town of Jackson will allow displaced vehicles to park in the Miller Park town parking overnight if needed. Town of Jackson Public Works is enroute to the avalanche with heavy equipment to move the snow and alleviate flooding.

Additionally, Teton County Road & Levee has just closed the Elk Refuge Rd at E Broadway to all but local traffic due to dangerous winter conditions.

Winter storm reminders for all Teton County residents:

• Keep fire hydrants clear of snow for emergency access
• Check gas meters and keep snow and ice clear of them
• Watch for sliding roofs and snow loading on roofs
• Keep private roads and driveways wide and clear enough for emergency vehicle access and turnaround
• National Weather Service has extended our Winter Storm Warning through Saturday morning, so expect a long duration snow event. For weather info visit www.weather.gov/riw
• N Highway 89 from Moose to Moran remains closed, and most other State highways have a No Unnecessary Travel advisory. Highway 22 Teton Pass is also scheduled to close at 10:00pm tonight 2/13 for avalanche control. For road info visit www.wyoroad.info
