Karlita Rojas-Reyes was driving a 2004 Acura eastbound on the Long Island Expressway when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median wall at approximately 11:45 p.m. Both Rojas-Reyes and her daughter were transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The 9-year-old girl was then released to her grandfather.
Rojas-Reyes, 27, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15-Years-Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The vehicle was impounded.
