Driver Arrested Following Crash That Seriously Injured a Passenger
Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man following a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a passenger in his vehicle in East Farmingdale last night.
Fritz Andral was driving a 2008 Honda sedan southbound on Baiting Place Road when the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree at approximately 10:15 p.m. A male passenger in the front seat, Jean Dorcine, 22, of Farmingdale, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. Andral was transported to the same hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released. A female passenger in the backseat was not injured. The Honda was impounded for a safety check.
First Squad Detectives arrested Andral, 25, of 33 Schleigel Blvd., Farmingdale for outstanding warrants unrelated to the crash. He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 23.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
