* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Lafayette County in south central Wisconsin... Southern Iowa County in south central Wisconsin...
* Until 500 AM CDT.
* At 202 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain associated with thunderstorms over Grant County. This area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will be shifting east across Lafayette and Iowa counties and may cause minor urban, rural and small stream flooding. Rainfall of one half inch to one inch is possible during this period.
* Some locations that may experience minor flooding include... Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Darlington, Shullsburg, Belmont, Benton, Argyle, Blanchardville, Somers, Wiota, Linden, New Diggings, South Wayne, Lamont, Rewey, Hollandale, Gratiot, Platte Mounds, Lead Mine and Yellowstone Lake St Park.
* AFFECTED AREAS: IOWA, WI ... LAFAYETTE, WI
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
