Tomorrow - Child Safety Seat Check & Installation Event

As part of National Seat Check Saturday, the South River Police Department will be hosting a free Child Safety Seat Check event. Stop by Kinder Kastle (544 Old Bridge Turnpike) on tomorrow, September 21st between 8:00am and noon. Officers who are nationally certified technicians will be on hand to inspect and assist with proper installation of child safety seats for any age - newborn through youth booster.

Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 1-13 in the United States. The proper use of child car seats is one of the simplest and most effective methods available for protecting the lives of our young children in the event of a motor vehicle crash. However, 3 out of every 4 children in child safety seats are not properly secured, or even worse, not restrained at all. Only the correct use of child car seats will offer the protection your child needs.

Can't make this event? Appointments for free child safety seat inspections are also available year-round with the South River Police Department. To schedule an appointment, call 732-254-1150 ext. 107.

Child safety seat inspections are one of several no cost programs the South River Police Department offers to residents. Others include home security inspections, the South River Special Needs Registry, Operation Blue Angel, Project Medicine Dropbox and our anonymous tip line. For more information on these programs as well as the many community events our department offers throughout the year, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or visit us online at www.southriverpd.org.
