The Sheboygan Police Department will be hosting its 25th Annual Citizen Academy starting on March 17, 2020, and concluding on May 26, 2020. The Citizens Academy will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and is an eleven-week course. The Citizen Academy is designed to be interactive through lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises. The purpose of the academy is to provide stakeholders of the City of Sheboygan an understanding of the police department. Participants will be exposed to many areas of police work ranging from the hiring process, current department initiatives, police investigations, use of force and the legal system.
Applications can be submitted online, downloaded, mailed or dropped off at the Sheboygan Police Department. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have no felony convictions. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants.
