CANCELLATION of Do Not Drink-Do Not Boil Notice
for select areas of the water system:
 NO FIRE-RELATED CONTAMINATION WAS FOUND
Berryessa Highlands and Oakridge Estates

September 29, 2020

On September 4, 2020, you were notified that a Do Not Drink-Do Not Boil notice had been issued for the NBRID-Berryessa Highlands water system.

Based on water quality samples collected last week, preceded by removal of affected meters from burnt properties and extensive flushing of the service lines and water distribution system, there is no evidence of fire-related contamination in the water system; with the exception of one sampling point that requires additional precautionary testing for confirmation. The NBRID-Berryessa Highlands water system in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board, and the Napa County Environmental Health Department has determined that through abatement of the potential health hazard and testing of the water, the “Do Not Drink-Do Not Boil” notice can be cancelled for most areas of the water systems.

  • Area Still Under the “Do Not Drink-Do Not Boil” NoticeClearwater Ct.
    • Additional testing from a water service line is required to confirm the absence of contamination. This testing will begin the week of Sept 28 – Oct 2, and will continue until results confirm no evidence of contamination.
  • All other areas of the water system may resume using tap water for potable and non-potable uses.

NOTE: As with other systems recently affected by wild land fires, the District will implement a rigorous flushing schedule throughout the water system for the next several months, and will perform precautionary follow-up Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) resampling from representative service lines at a schedule and frequency to be determined. If VOCs are detected at any point, you will be notified within 24 hours.
