NWS has issued a strong wind advisory until 4:00 pm. Outdoor burning is discouraged due to increased fire spread risks.

Strong winds expected Sunday...

A dry cold front will move through the area early Sunday morning ushering in gusty northwest winds of 35 to 45 mph behind the
front. Gusty conditions will begin at dawn in the Peoria area, then spread southeast through mid-morning. Gusty conditions will continue across the entire area until diminishing late in the afternoon on Sunday.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Driving may be difficult for light and high profile vehicles, especially on southwest to northeast oriented roads, such as I-55 and I-57.
Fires could spread quickly, so outdoor burning is discouraged on Sunday.

Instructions:

Secure light weight objects, high profile vehicles should be alert.
