State's updated COVID information
Due to the limited number of ICU beds and rising numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations, California has introduced a new Regional Stay-at-Home order for regions where ICU capacity falls below 15%. Lake County has been placed in the Northern California Region which includes Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties (current remaining capacity is 18.6%).
The City of Lakeport continues to encourage its residents to be diligent, stay safe, wear masks appropriately, and wash hands. The local businesses are already struggling from this pandemic. Before ordering online, please look at the ways to shop safely and buy local. For businesses near you, please reference Business Organizations and Events (lakecountyca.gov). Outdoor recreation has been encouraged; Places Archive - Lake County provides a list of over 100 miles of local trails.
When the Northern California Region does hit the threshold, the Order will be in effect within 24 hours and will remain for at least three weeks; it will be evaluated each week thereafter. When regional lockdowns are lifted, counties again will be categorized by the color-coded system.
