Winter Storm Update for Mendocino County

The winter storm conditions are being constantly monitored and crews from numerous organizations are working to open closed roadways, re-energize power to residents, and support the community during this storm. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) has a website containing all known power outages in Mendocino County, which is linked below.

With crews continuing their work in all areas of this county, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office would like to remind residents to maintain proper and safe driving techniques if they are on the road. Please obey all emergency lighting and flaggers on the roads and plan for increased travel times due to roadway conditions. If you see power lines in or around the roadway, maintain a safe distance and try to remain in your car. Please treat all lines as if they are energized for proper safety. Remain aware of the roadway conditions and watch for downed trees or other debris in or around the roadway.

At this time, Caltrans has reported that all major highways in Mendocino County are open to traffic, but this is subject to change based on current storm conditions. For current roadway information, please visit the Caltrans website.

Weather forecasts are predicting additional precipitation throughout the upcoming weekend so please make sure you have sufficient food, water, gasoline, and other supplies you may need.

Please refrain from calling 9-1-1 unless you have a life or death emergency.
