Be on the lookout for Jordan Burgess, who is wanted for attempted murder in last week's Polk Village shooting.
Case History
Last Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 2:40 p.m., Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim — adult male— outside a residence on Centerview Drive (Polk Village) in Beaufort.
Upon their arrival, deputies secured the scene. The wounded man was located and transported to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital by Emergency Medical Services. At the scene, deputies learned that the subject fled prior to their arrival.
Sheriff's Office investigators responded to the scene to process for forensic evidence and interview witnesses. As the investigation progressed, 22-year-old Jordan Burgess of Beaufort was identified as responsible for the shooting.
Last Friday, investigators met with a Beaufort County magistrate and obtained warrants for Burgess's arrest for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
As of this afternoon, Burgess has not been located and remains at large for the active arrest warrants.

Jordan Burgess is to be considered armed and dangerous, so we urge the public not to approach him.
