Be a courteous neighbor: Think about PETS, VETS & NEIGHBORS before you set off fireworks this summer! 
As summer quickly approaches and many residents begin to celebrate, Lancaster Sheriff's Station would like to remind you that fireworks are NOT permitted in the City of Lancaster. It is prohibited to manufacture, give away, sell, offer for sale, solicit the sale of, possess, purchase, use, ignite, explode, fire, or otherwise discharge any fireworks within the city.
We all love fireworks! And we all love to celebrate summer! But not only are fireworks not permitted in our city under under Municipal Code 8.44.030, they are a HUGE nuisance to your neighbors.
From neighbors trying to watch TV, to Veterans suffering from PTSD, to elderly neighbors, to dogs, cats & farm animals - no one enjoys hearing fireworks explode all night long.
So be a courteous neighbor and think about PETS, VETS & NEIGHBORS before you set off fireworks. Celebrate summer responsibly and not by receiving a hefty financial fine.
