Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 02:45PM

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Lewis County in northern West Virginia... Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia... Southwestern Barbour County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 245 PM EDT.

* At 201 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Stonewall Jackson, or near Weston, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Buckhannon, Audra State Park, Ellamore, Lorentz, Tallmansville, Overhill, Hodgesville, Horner, Alton and French Creek. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 97 and 104. Route 33 between mile markers 1 and 17.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BARBOUR, WV ... LEWIS, WV ... RANDOLPH, WV ... UPSHUR, WV

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. If on or near Stonewall Jackson lake, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Please report severe weather to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
