This year marks the 38th anniversary of National Night Out.

This year marks the 38th anniversary of National Night Out. The Fairfield Police Department has been celebrating National Night out with our community dating back to 1986.

The City of Fairfield, Fairfield Police Department, and Fairfield Fire Department would like to invite our community to celebrate National Night Out, 2021. National Night Out brings neighbors together for the purpose of heightening crime prevention and police community partnerships . The event sends a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and united in preventing crime.

Date: Tuesday, August 3, 2021
Time: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Nationally, over 10,000 communities from all 50 states across America will celebrate National Night Out (NNO).

As part of National Night Out, staff from all City Departments typically join police and fire to visit registered neighborhood events throughout the city.

National Night Out events ranging from small potlucks and BBQ’s to block parties.

Additional Event Ideas:
BBQ, potluck, ice cream socials, meet new neighbors, discuss starting a Neighborhood Watch Group, discuss neighborhood issues, organize a neighborhood clean-up, set neighborhood goals, discuss disaster preparedness, and organize games for adults and kids.

Event Questions & Answers:
Q: Why should my neighborhood register its event with FFPD?
A: The Fairfield Police Department Crime Prevention Unit will log your event, the number of participants, and the time and location. Police and other City representatives will work hard to visit registered events throughout the evening.

Q: How can our neighborhood participate in this year’s National Night Out?
A: There are a variety of ways to participate: Neighborhoods are asked to turn on your outdoor lights, secure your homes, and spend the evening outside with your neighbors and the Police.

Q: Is National Night Out just for existing Neighborhood Watch areas?
A: No!!! National Night Out is for everyone. The exciting thing about National Night Out is the opportunity to meet neighbors and celebrate your neighborhood. It’s also a great opportunity to plan events to promote community safety and unity year-round!

A: Yes

Q: Can local churches participate?
A: Yes

Q: What about COVID-19 protocols?
A: The City of Fairfield is following Solano County Public Health guidelines for all events.
