The Festival Fireworks will be launched from barges between North and South Pier at 9:30 PM this evening.
The Sheboygan Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to please be mindful of the city ordinance and leave the fireworks to the professionals. The illegal discharge of fireworks within city limits can pose a significant risk of personal injury, fire and disturbing the peace and tranquility of neighborhoods. Illegal fireworks will be seized and violators will face substantial forfeitures. Fireworks are prohibited to possess and use in the City of Sheboygan, regardless if they were purchased and possessed legally in other parts of the state.
City ordinance 50-696 to 50-698 describes fireworks as follows: Fireworks means anything
manufactured, processed or packaged for exploding, emitting sparks or combustion, which does not have another common use.
Violators will face forfeitures in excess of $376 per violation. Please, celebrate responsibly while at the lakefront and throughout the City of Sheboygan. Thank you!
