On 7-20-2021 at about 9:47 p.m., the owner of the Eleventh Street Storage Facility reported to Lakeport PD that a suspicious subject was observed on remote video surveillance inside the storage facility grounds. Responding Lakeport Police Officers, utilizing a cautious and stealthy approach, located the masked male subject in dark clothing who attempted to flee the area on foot. LPD Officers gave chase and caught the subject. Further investigation of the scene turned up burglary tools , including bolt cutters and a 2-way radio, and multiple burglarized storage units. The suspect, Robert McGrew, a 36 year old Clearlake resident, was arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail on Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tool charges, on a $50,000 bail.
