Flash Flood Watch
Advisory: Potential For Severe Weather and Excessive Rainfall Early Thursday Morning
* Potential remains for severe weather to impact portions of southeast Michigan during the early morning hours Thursday. Timing of greatest severe threat is between 3 am and 6 am. Revisions to the track and timing of this system are still possible.
* The complex of thunderstorms will pose a risk for damaging winds to 60 mph mainly west of I-75 and south of the I-69 corridor of southeast Michigan. Potential for heavy rainfall and flooding concerns also exist. Storm total rainfall will average 0.50 to 1.00 inches with potential to exceed 2 inches in 6 hours. The Marginal to Slight Risk for severe weather covers most of southeast Michigan and a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall covers areas southwest of a line roughly from Owosso to Detroit.
* This complex will be moving very quickly from northwest to southeast at 50 mph. The progressive nature of the system may help limit flooding concerns if it moves through quickly enough. A track holding more to the west and south of southeast Michigan would also limit the damaging wind and heavy rainfall potential.
