This weekend will be the 47th annual Stokes Stomp in Danbury, NC. As you are traveling through Danbury tomorrow, please be mindful of the increased traffic and people walking the streets of Danbury. The parade will begin at 10am leaving the government center going to the park. Hwy 8 & 89 through Danbury will be closed tomorrow starting at 9:45am until the parade has completed its route. We look forward to seeing you all there. Remember shuttle service from the government center to the park will be available throughout the entire event.

As tomorrow is September 11, a day where first responders are celebrated, please stop by and say hello to one of your deputies, a volunteer firemen, our EMS folks, or any other first responders that you may see. They always appericate a kind word.

At 3pm the Sheriff's Office will also be participating in the Community Safety Day in King, NC at Central Park. There they will have music and several of your first responder agencies on hand for you all to meet.
