Sheriff's Office investigating fatal stabbing on St. Helena Island 
Shortly after 1:00 this morning (November 11, 2021), Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Olde Church Road, St. Helena Island to a report of a stabbing.
When deputies arrived, they found a male, identified as 35-year-old Dominick Lesesene, lying unresponsive near the road.
Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services paramedics attempted to render aid to Lesesene, but he died at the scene of apparent stab wounds.
Witnesses advised that they observed a physical altercation between Lesesene and a male subject, during which Lesesene was stabbed multiple times.
The witnesses advised that after stabbing Lesesene, the male subject fled the scene.
Deputies and investigators are currently looking for the person of interest.
There does not appear to be a threat to the general public.
A forensic autopsy will be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina to confirm Lesesene's cause of death.
