The City of Perth Amboy is reaching out this morning regarding the nationwide school threats circulating on social media for today, December 17^, 2021.

As declared by Governor Murphy, Office of the Attorney General, and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, in regards to the viral social media school threats, there are no known specific threats against New Jersey schools.  These are unsubstantiated and unverified non-creditable threats.

As a community, we must not allow our school district to be distracted and deter us from our collective commitment to care for and educate our students.  The Perth Amboy Public School District, the Perth Amboy Board of Education, the Perth Amboy Police Department, along with the Mayor of the City of Perth Amboy are working collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Rest assured that if we have pertinent and reliable information to share with you, we will do so in an organized and responsible manner.

We are sharing this information out of an abundance of caution and do not want to add any credibility to these non-creditable, unverified, and unsubstantiated threats.

La ciudad de Perth Amboy se está comunicando esta noche con respecto a las amenazas escolares a nivel nacional que circulan en las redes sociales para mañana, 17 de diciembre de 2021.
Como lo declararon por el Gobernador Murphy, la Oficina del Fiscal General, y la Oficina del Fiscal del Condado de Middlesex, en relación con las amenazas virales de las escuelas de medios sociales, no hay amenazas específicas contra las escuelas de Nueva Jersey. Se trata de amenazas no justificadas y no verificadas.
Como comunidad, no debemos permitir que nuestro distrito escolar se distraiga o nos disuada de nuestro compromiso colectivo de cuidar y educar a nuestros estudiantes. El Distrito escolar Público de Perth Amboy, la Junta de Educación de Perth Amboy, el Departamento de Policía de Perth Amboy, junto con el Alcalde de la Ciudad de Perth Amboy están trabajando en colaboración para garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestra comunidad.
