Vandals arrested in cemetery destruction

Date: January 14, 2020

No: 22-01
Subject: Vandals arrested in cemetery destruction

As of January 13, 2022 Kaitlyn B. Armstrong, 20, of Oak Creek, WI along with Brandon S. Pfeifer, 20, of Caledonia were arrested for vandalizing several headstones and gravesites at Mound Cemetery (1147 West Blvd.) on July 31, 2020.  They will both be charged with Criminal Damage to Religious Property- Party to a Crime.

At the time of the incident, fingerprints were collected from one of the headstones that had been vandalized.  These fingerprints were then put into a nationwide database.  There were no matching fingerprints in the system at the time.  It was not until Armstrong was cited in late 2021 and her fingerprints were taken and put into the database that the fingerprints were matched up.  This, along with some other investigative leads, led the police to the perpetrators.
