City to open warming center due excessive cold tonight
Fairfield, California (Thursday, February 24, 2022) – The City of Fairfield will open a temporary warming center starting tonight at 7p.m. and continuing until 7 a.m. Saturday, February 26. The center will provide shelter for homeless residents and those without heat as the cold front continues.
Warming Center Location:
Fairfield Community Center – 1000 Kentucky Street
Operating hours: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, through Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 7:00 a.m.
*Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status.
The warming center may extend its hours of operation if excessive temperatures continue.
The Fairfield Police Homeless Intervention Team (HIT) will be distributing flyers in English and Spanish to homeless individuals within city limits.
