Deputies searching for armed homicide suspect in Monte Rio. Shelter in Place order still in effect.

Sheriff’s Office and mutual aid agencies are searching for an armed and dangerous suspect who shot and killed a man this morning in the 20000 block of Willow Road, Monte Rio, and left on foot. The suspect is Francisco Gonzalez. He’s a Hispanic man, 32 years old, 6’1”, 160 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing a blanket over his arms and red tennis shoes. See photo below.

Gonzalez is armed with a rifle and dangerous. If you see him, call 911 and do not approach him.

There is still an active Shelter in Place Order in Monte Rio for the area east of Bohemian Highway and south and east of the river. This includes River Boulevard and adjacent streets and Bohemian Avenue and adjacent streets.

Please avoid the area so you stay safe and peace officers have space to do their job. Check the Sheriff’s Office social media for informational updates.
