Palmdale Fatal Traffic Collision 03-29-2022 
| On Tuesday March 29, 2022, at approximately 9:00 PM, Palmdale Deputies responded to a traffic collision on Avenue P east of 10th Street East in the City of Palmdale. Deputies learned a White Male adult was walking in westbound lanes of Avenue P, east of 10th Street East. A Hispanic Male adult was driving a Blue BMW 325I westbound on Avenue P in the number one lane. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the BMW swerved to avoid colliding with an uninvolved vehicle and collided with the pedestrian. A Blue Honda Civic driving westbound on Avenue P behind the BMW swerved to avoid colliding with the pedestrian and collided with the BMW. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to the pedestrian. The White Male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the deputies’ investigation. The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor for the vehicle operators in this collision. Alcohol or drug use by the Pedestrian prior to this collision is currently under investigation. Palmdale Station Traffic Investigator Detective Sherman and Traffic Services Detective James Shull responded to the scene. A portion of Avenue P was closed between 10th Street East and 15th Street East during the investigation. |
