UPDATE (04/11/22):
On Friday, April 8, 2022 Special Investigations Unit conducted a traffic stop on Terral Martin (m/b; 28 years old of Racine). Martin had been developed as a suspect for this homicide. He was brought to the Police Department for questioning and then transported to the Racine County Jail where he is being held on PTAC (Party to a Crime) 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Possession w/ Intent to Deliver THC, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jumping, and 3 counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
On Saturday, February 26, 2022 at about 0345 hours, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Cleveland Ave. in reference to shots being fired. Upon their arrival, officers observed a male laying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life saving efforts when they detected that the victim did not have a pulse. Rescue arrived and continued life saving measures and transported the victim to the hospital. All lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful in reviving the victim. The victim was later identified as Demond Hicks (m/b; DOB: 05/18/85) of Racine.
