Subject: Shooting/Homicide
On Sunday, May 15th., at approximately 0240 hours, dispatch received several calls about shots fired. A Mt. Pleasant officer was near the 1300 block of Washington Ave. when he heard people screaming and lots of cars leaving the area. As Racine PD officers arrived on scene, a male victim (m/b 42 years old) was located with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A female victim (f/b 28 years old) also had a gunshot wound which was non-life threatening.
A suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
