The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southwestern Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Central Pocahontas County in northeastern West Virginia... Southern Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Webster County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 1230 PM EDT.

* At 1202 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Mill Creek to 12 miles west of Dailey to near Rock Cave, moving south at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Cass Scenic Railroad, Greenbank, Mill Creek, Snowshoe, Holly River State Park, Rock Cave, Mingo, Durbin, Huttonsville, Alexander, Arbovale, Cheat Bridge, Eden, Helvetia, Pickens, Waneta, Boyer, Kanawha Head, Bergoo and Dunmore.

* AFFECTED AREAS: POCAHONTAS, WV ... RANDOLPH, WV ... UPSHUR, WV ... WEBSTER, WV

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
