The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... West central Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Gilmer County in north central West Virginia... Lewis County in northern West Virginia... Northeastern Braxton County in north central West Virginia... Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Webster County in northeastern West Virginia... Southwestern Harrison County in northern West Virginia...

* Until 945 PM EDT.

* At 914 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Weston, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Weston, Glenville, Jackson Mill, Stonewall Jackson, Holly River State Park, Rock Cave, Burnsville, Jane Lew, Sand Fork, Alexander, Eden, Helvetia, Pickens, Cleveland, Alum Bridge, Hacker Valley, Kanawha Head, Ireland, French Creek and Diana. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 73 and 105. Route 33 between mile markers 1 and 7.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BRAXTON, WV ... GILMER, WV ... HARRISON, WV ... LEWIS, WV ... RANDOLPH, WV ... UPSHUR, WV ... WEBSTER, WV

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
