The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... West Central Rock County in south central Wisconsin...
* Until 1130 PM CDT.
* At 831 PM CDT, Additional thunderstorm activity and very heavy rainfall are expected tonight. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen across the warned area, with an additional 1.5 to 2.5 inches possible over the next few hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Orfordville, Footville and Magnolia.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ROCK, WI
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
