REMINDER: Cooling Centers open Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 22 at the Senior Center and Public Library 
As a reminder, due to hot temperatures expected this week, Cooling Centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday-Friday at the North Brunswick Senior Center, 15 Linwood Place and the hours below at the North Brunswick Public Library, 880 Hermann Road.
Wednesday – 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Thursday – 12:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday – 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Due to an increase in COVID cases, masks are recommended.
A Heat Advisory is in effect from today and through 8 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, July 21 with heat index values from 100 to 105 degrees expected.
Please take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. If your pet is outside, make sure they have access to shade and plenty of cool water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9-1-1.
