(262) 635-0190 Date: August 5, 2022 No: 20-19 Subject: Cemetery Shooting Update ARRESTED: Lamarion D. Blair, 19 year old male and a 16 year old male from Racine On Thursday, August 4, 2022 after an extensive and thorough investigation, the Racine Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Lamarion Blair and a 16 year old male for the shooting at the funeral of Da’Shontay King at Graceland Cemetery and the shooting a short time later in the 2800 block of Wright Ave. Both Blair and the 16 year old each face 26 counts of 1 st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety- Party to a Crime along with 2 counts of 1 st Degree Intentional Homicide-Attempted-Party to a Crime, with a possibility of more charges to be forthcoming. We would like to thank the ATF and the US Marshals for their assistance throughout this investigation. On June 2, 2022 at approximately 1426 hours officers responded to Graceland Cemetery for shots fired. The funeral being held was for Da'Shontay King. Upon officers arrival they were faced with mass chaos. Once the scene was contained and secured, the investigation began. There were multiple firearms used in this incident. Two females were shot and taken to the hospital. One was 19 years old and she was treated and released. The other, a 35 year old woman, was air lifted to a hospital in Milwaukee where she underwent surgery for her injures. At the time of this report she was awake and alert. There are no other reports of any other gunshot injuries. No one is currently in custody. The investigation is still ongoing. For anyone who may have any video evidence, please email Lt.
