(262) 635-0190 Date: August 8, 2022 No: 22-20 Subject: Gun Arrest On Saturday, August 6, 2022 at approximately 1215 hours officers responded to the 1000 block of Blaine Ave and spoke to a 49 year old male who reported being shot at by a Calvin Gibson. The 49 year old male was driving when he observed the Calvin Gibson driving behind him. According to the victim, Calvin Gibson shot at the him and continued shooting as he drove away. The 49 year old was able to pull over and call the police. The vehicle that Calvin Gibson was driving was observed by an officer and a traffic stop was conducted without incident. Calvin Gibson and his two passengers (Willie and Raymond Gibson) were arrested and taken in for questioning. Six .45 caliber spent casings were recovered from Willie Gibson’s pocket. ARRESTED: Calvin E. Gibson, 52 year old male of Racine -1 st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety -Discharging Firearm/ Vehicle-Bldg/ Vehicle -Possession of Firearm by Felon -Possession of THC (2nd Offense) Willie Gibson Jr, 69 year old male of Racine -Straw Purchasing of Firearms- 2 counts -Possession w/ Intent- Cocaine (5-15g) -Possession of THC -Aiding a Felon Raymond G. Gibson, 64 year old male of Racine -Possession of Firearm by Felon- 9 counts The RPD/ATF Violent Crime Taskforce (not to be confused with the Racine County Violent Crime Reduction Initiative) wrote and executed search warrants for the residences of Calvin, Willie and Raymond Gibson. During the execution of the search warrant a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and firearm related paraphernalia was collected. The below listed firearms were located: -Aero Precision AR-10 rifle -Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun -Anderson Manuf. AR-15 300 AAC rifle -Anderson Manuf. AF-15 multi-cal. Rifle -AR-15 300 AAC rifle- Ghost Gun -Remington 700 300 Win Mag Sniper Configuration rifle NEWS RELEASE 2 -Smith and Wesson Compass 308 rifle -Mossberg 500 .410 gauge shotgun -Marlin Model 60 .22LR rifle -.45 Glock handgun and pistol magazines (3-13 round capacity/ 2-30 round capacity) Also located were 18 80% lowers, 2 Anderson stripped AR-15 lowers, and boxes of tools and spare parts. It is clear that the Gibson’s were manufacturing firearms inside one of their residences. This is a significant arrest given the level of gun violence the city has experienced in 2022.
