Community Safety Alert

On September 20th, an unknown suspect tried to lure a 12-year-old boy into their vehicle in the area of Sacramento Avenue and Addison Street.

Around 5:30 pm on September 20th, a 12-year-old boy was riding his scooter on the sidewalk of Sacramento Street when a car stopped in front of him.  A female suspect got out of the car and tried to convince the boy to get inside.  When the suspect came closer to the boy, the boy ran away and hid in a nearby driveway.  When the boy walked back out to the sidewalk a few minutes later, the suspect was still there and began to follow the boy in her vehicle.  Thankfully, the boy was able to run away from the suspect (in the opposite direction of traffic) and escape.

We believe this incident is related to another incident that occurred on August 29th at about 6 pm.  In this incident, a 13-year-old girl was walking in the area of Allston Way and McKinley Avenue when a white car pulled alongside the teen and tried to entice her to get inside.  The teen refused, kept walking and later told her parents about what happened.

Witnesses described the suspect in this case as a Black female, with a light complexion, about 30-40 years old, about 5’4” tall, with a chubby build, with black hair in a bun, driving a newer model white Honda or Toyota sedan.
