We are aware of widespread reports of brown water.  We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this issue. 

Why is this happening? 
Due to the drought we experienced this year, the Utilities Department did not implement the biannual hydrant flushing program in an effort to preserve water.  Without this regular flushing, natural sediment built up in the water distribution pipes.  Any disturbance in the water distribution system can stir up the sediment, which can make its way to your home.  This sediment is not dangerous, but it can cause staining.
