On Saturday October 29th 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. the Amsterdam Police Department will be participating in the DEA National prescription drug take back day. This is an opportunity to turn in your expired or no longer needed prescriptions for safe disposal. Participating in this event keeps these prescriptions from falling into the wrong hands as well as keeping the environment safe from careless disposal that threatens our natural water and land resources. The Amsterdam Police Department is located at 1 Guy Park Avenue Ext Amsterdam. There will be large boxes placed in the lobby for anonymous collection of your unwanted prescriptions.

Please remember besides participating in this initiative the Amsterdam Police Department lobby is also home to a large red container provided by CVS that is always available to take your old prescriptions throughout the year.
