Fairfield Expecting Moderate/Heavy Rainfall, Winds and Potential Flooding from Wednesday, January 4
Solano County, including Fairfield, is bracing for the arrival of two major storms – first Wednesday, January 3 (tomorrow) through Thursday, January 4, and then again Saturday, January 6 through Monday, January 9.
Expect:
- Damaging winds with gusts up to 60 mph that may cause downed trees and power lines. The winds will also likely cause impacts to unsecured items, including temporary structures and cause difficult driving conditions. Winds are expected to be at their strongest Wednesday morning (10 am) through Thursday afternoon (4 pm).
- Saturated ground and weakened trees from recent storms to increase potential for trees to be blown down.
- Moderate to heavy rain will create conditions for possible flooding, although not *expected* to reach levels seen over the New Year holiday weekend.
- Widespread power outages. To view the PG&E Outage Map, click here https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outagecenter/.
