The Monterey County Sheriff's Office has downgraded Evacuation Orders to Evacuation Warnings for residents of areas of south Monterey County from San Lucas to King City near the Salinas River, and zones from the town of Spreckels all the way to the Pacific Ocean near the Salinas River effective immediately and until further notice. If you are in an Evacuation Warning Zone prepare to leave. Be ready to leave if an evacuation order is issued. Gather essential items now to be ready to go. If you feel unsafe, do not wait for an evacuation order, leave immediately. Continue Monitoring local media, social media, and Nixle alerts for updates due to incoming storms. Call 2-1-1 for information. Call 9-1-1 only if you have a life-threatening emergency.
