Dear South Whitehall Township Resident:

In direct response to reports of heavy traffic congestion that is occurring along State Route 309 during the morning rush hour commute (~6:00 AM to 7:00 AM), the South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners has approved the following schedule change to the residential solid waste/recycling collection schedule along the State Route 309 corridor:

  • Change in Collection Starting Time from 6:00 AM to 5:00 AM, effective Wednesday, February 8, 2023
While all residents that are signed up for NIXLE alerts received this advisory message, only those residences that fall within the State Route 309 corridor collection zone will be affected by this change. A map of the actual impacted areas/roadways of the Township for this schedule change is enclosed for reference and use. The highlighted areas of the map are the only sections of the Township will see the collection schedule change to 5:00 AM starting on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

The collection schedule change to 5:00 AM will begin on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. You will need to ensure that your solid waste (refuse) and recycling containers are placed curbside on or before 5:00 AM. This change will be in effect until further notice.
